I was lucky to be introduced to Hip-Hop in it’s Golden Age, with some of the best rappers & DJs releasing classic after classic. I naturally evolved into funk, soul, blues and jazz, to track down my favourite hip-hop samples and started diggin’ in back alley record shops all over Dublin. I became a fiend for vinyl.
Around this time, I landed a weekly radio slot on JazzFM, which lasted for 6 years. During this time I was DJing all around Dublin as well as residency at their club nights. I also played a set at the Cork Jazz Festival, Ireland.
Since then, I’ve moved focus towards more upbeat, bass filled, remixes & mash-ups, but still love the funk, soul and hip-hop.
I moved to Vancouver, where I joined CITR 101.9FM with a show called Bootlegs & B-Sides where I played the cream of breakbeats, glitch-hop, funky breaks, mash-ups, covers, dubstep, ghetto funk, drum n bass, house and hip-hop. I had a residency in Fan Club Vancouver as well as a regular feature in The Electro Swing Club Vancouver’s events.
When I returned to Dublin I joined PheverFM, where I had a show for 5 years. More recently I have joined up with Radio RapTz (Paris) and Radio Byron (Australia) and now delighted to have also joined PlayFM in my home town of Dublin.
Catch my show Bootlegs & B-Sides every Sunday for an hour of bass driven funk & soul…
