Basic Input/Output System (B.I/O.S.) aka Brendan Brady is originally from Cavan, but has been based in Dublin for over 5 years.
Originally fell in love with the guitar, B.I/O.S. played in the band “The Hairy Peaches” with his secondary school buddies before heading off to college in Maynooth. It was here in Maynooth college, with it’s unique blend of rural and urban influences coming together, that he was exposed to a greater amount of EDM and became hooked.
Initally exposed to artists such as DJ Falcon, Lifelike and Alan Braxe in the late 90′s, B.I/O.S. extended his musical hobby into producing some disco/house edits. He continued producing into the early noughties when he became interested in the then blossoming breaks sceen, before taking a break from production for several years.
After over 10 years of clubbing, and with some spare funds for the first time, B.I/O.S. decided it was time to stop dreaming and start mixing.
Current influences extend from all flavours of disco/funk from labels such as Permanent Vacation, Instruments of Rapture and Dellusions of Grandeur to the dark abyss techno of labels such as Stroboscopic Artefacts and CLR.
B.I/O.S. is also back producing, with an EP soon to be released on Italian label AEM Records.
